Belinda Rachman, Esq.
Had it not been for taking est in April of 1980 or maybe 1981 (I forget) I would not have had the life I have led. The freedom that came out of knowing I was the source of every aspect of my life gave me the power to create an astounding life. After being a special ed teacher working with severely emotionally disturbed kids, I became a lawyer and have helped over 200 couples have a peaceful divorce with no fighting and saving their co parenting relationship to say nothing of millions of dollars in attorney fees. I have spearheaded the peaceful divorce movement in North America and am taking on transforming the way people divorce from litigation to mediation. If I ever get the Nobel Peace Prize, I will thank Werner from the stage. He is the single biggest influence on my life and I would not have had the vision without him. From www.janeself.blogspot.com

I read a very inspiring blog entry by Jim Selman recently. He talked about Werner Erhard and the est training and the insights on life that they provided. ‘this is it’—life is what it is and reality doesn’t care what we think. The point was to stop being victims and ‘make a difference’. It was a great experience for hundreds of thousands of folks looking for answers to life’s big questions like “Who am I?”, “What is my purpose?”, “What’s it all about?”
“The movement was all about transformation and how human beings could participate in bringing about real change by participating with others in various ways. We participated with Werner in the creation of dozens of initiatives including: “The Hunger Project” (to create ‘the end of hunger and starvation as an idea whose time has come’, a project that is still working around the world to achieve that objective) “The Breakthrough Foundation” (that delivered programs for youth at risk), and “Transformational Technologies” (that introduced transformation to the business world and first conceived the idea of coaching as an alternative to traditional command-and-control management).
Jim is now working on a project he calls “eldering”, working to transform the culture of aging so that our later years in life are as meaningful and filled with possibility as when we were younger.
I thought it was great, and inspiring. Here is the link to Jim’s web page: www.sereneambition.com
